We didn't throw tennis balls at the glass or hit it with a hammer. We conducted a controlled, scientific experiment using digital calipers and a pressure tester. These scientific tools allowed us to record the exact data, testing both pieces of tempered glass in the same environment.

We considered two factors in our testing. First was the thickness of the glass. The second was the amount of pressure the glass sustained before it broke. These are the two most important things to consider when buying the right glass to protect your expensive screen.

We measured the thickness of each tempered glass using a digital caliper, that allowed us to record exact data in millimeters. The results might surprise you. The Zagg Invisible Shield showed a reading of 0.46mm. The SaharaCase ZeroDamage, at one-quarter of the price, came in just slightly thinner at 0.41mm. Glass that is too thick, can diminishes the performance of your touch screen.
Next, we measured the strength of the tempered glass using a Mark-10 Pressure Tester with a cone point attachment. The cone point attachment helped us to replicate the most common cause of LCD screen breakage, falling on a sharp object like a rock or the edge of a step. The results might surprise you. Using the pressure tester, we slowly increased the pressure until the glass broke. The Zagg Invisible Shield held on and finally broke when the pressure hit 19.5lbs. The SaharaCase ZeroDamage held on past that. In fact, the glass didn't yield until it hit an astounding 29.5lbs.
